云南大学2024级天文菁英班梦飞望远镜实习顺利开展

Yunnan University Astronomy Elite Class Visited the Mephisto Telescope for Field Training

     2025年5月24日，云南大学物理与天文学院2024级天文菁英班师生赴中国科学院云南天文台丽江高美古观测基地，开展《普通天文学实习》课程实践。本次实习由云南大学中国西南天文研究所刘辰旭、钟诗言两位授课老师组织，班主任李佳文老师带队。

      实习期间，同学们依次参观了云南大学中国西南天文研究所自主研制的梦飞多通道测光巡天望远镜、中国科学院云南天文台2.4米光学通用望远镜及日冕望远镜。围绕不同科学目标，深入了解了各类天文观测设备的构造原理与运行方式。在3200米海拔的高原上，脚踏实地、仰望星空、探索宇宙，同学们在沉浸式的学习体验中，认识到了云南在中国天文观测体系中的独特地理优势，了解了云南大学在国内光学天文学发展中的重要地位，真切感受到了科学探索的魅力与祖国天文事业发展的脉动。

      此次实习不仅加深了学生对天文学基础知识与天文观测的理解，也在“实践育人”的过程中，激发了他们刻苦学习、追求真理、服务国家的责任感与使命感。

 

    On May 24, 2025, students and faculty of the 2024 Astronomy Elite Class from the School of Physics and Astronomy at Yunnan University visited the Gaomeigu Observing Station in Lijiang, operated by Yunnan Observatories of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, as part of the on-site training for the course of General Astronomy Internship. The visit was organized by Professors Chenxu Liu and Shiyan Zhong from the South-Western Institute for Astronomy Research (SWIFAR) at Yunnan University, accompanied by the head teacher of the class Jiawen Li.

    During the trip, the students visited several key astronomical facilities, including the Multi-channel Photometric Survey Telescope (Mephisto) led by SWIFAR, the 2.4-meter Optical Telescope, and the Solar Coronagraph operated by Yunnan Observatories. By listening to the lectures and the close look at the instruments, they gained in-depth understanding of the design principles and the structures as well as the operation strategies of different astronomical instruments. At an altitude of 3,200 meters on the high plateau, the students felt the proud of gazing up the sky while keeping the down-to-earth attitude for science research, and were stimulated in exploring the universe. They came to appreciate better the geographical advantages of Yunnan for astronomical observations in China, and the important role played by Yunnan University. They felt truly the beauty of scientific explorations and the vitality of the fast developments of astronomical research in China.

    This visit not only deepened the students’ understanding about astronomical research, but also—by the process of “education through practice”—inspired them a strong sense of responsibility and mission: to study diligently, pursue truth, and contribute to the development of our motherland.
