Colloquium on Dec. 20th, 2018: Megamasers & AGN, Starburst

Abstract:

Masers have become a promising tool to probe obscured regions at small scales, such as the innermost region of AGNs, due to the extremely bright maser spots. The two main molecular megamaser species found to date are H2O and OH molecules. H2O megamasers are believed to be related to AGN, which have important potential in studying AGN and cosmology, such as determining accurately the mass of supper massive black hole and the Hubble constant H0 etc. And OH megamasers are found in (U)LIRGs, which are considered to be associated with galaxy merger-induced starbursts. A brief summary and our recent projects will be introduced, including a systematic observational study of radio properties of H2O megamaser galaxies, FAST maser studies etc.


Personal Information:

2006年博士毕业于中科院紫金山天文台,于2004年7月到2006年6月在德国马普射电研究所学习工作,完成博士期间的主要工作。主要申请国际先进望远镜如Arecibo、IRAM30m、Effelsberg、APEX、ARO等的观测时间,系统开展天体脉泽、银河系星际介质同位素等课题的观测研究。有关超脉泽天体及其寄主环境的系统研究工作,得到了国际同行们的积极关注,在多个河外星系中探测到水分子超脉泽,首次在河外星系中探测到甲醇和氧化硅分子超脉泽。先后获评/获聘广东省第七批“千百十”工程省级培养对象,中国FAST望远镜(中国“天眼”)杰出学者,广州学者特聘教授等。
