AI-Driven Processing of Wide-Sky Astronomical Maps
Speaker: Shunlei Ni (Zhejiang Lab)
Venue: SWIFAR Building 2111
Time: 12:45 PM, Monday, Nov. 3, 2025
Abstract:
Modern astronomical observations generate data on an unprecedented scale, covering wide sky areas and high-resolution images, which pose significant challenges for data processing. As a powerful tool, AI is profoundly transforming the way astronomical data are analyzed. AI methods can not only handle large-scale and complex astronomical datasets, but also significantly improve efficiency and accuracy in tasks such as feature extraction, noise reduction, and pattern recognition. This talk will present the core concepts and application frameworks of AI in processing wide-field astronomical data, and discuss its potential value and future prospects in astronomical research.
